東大寺二月堂では、春を呼ぶお水取り行事（３月１日～３月１５日）の準備が進んでいます。
２月１１日には、私達ご近所の人達が、松明として使われる大きい竹を奉納しました。
この行事に参加すると、もうすぐ春が来ていると実感します。
この竹は、長さが8ｍ、重さが60ｋｇもあり、根がついています。
The preparation for Omizutori (March 1st-15th) at Nigatsudo hall in Todaji temple is ongoing.
We, the neighbors around Naramachi Guesthouse offered a huge bamboo pole which will be used as a torch on Feburary 11th.
I always feel that spring is almost there during this event.
The bamboo poles with roots are 8 meters long and weigh 60kg each.
